Coming Home

I am returning from my trip
to Washington DC and Virginia. It was a good time and aching
for more travel.

The question is having support
from others whether money or
staying with them. Writing about my adventures and how
you can be helped in your travels.

I am sure everyone has a bucket list when coming to
travel. Of course you want
to travel as well.

As an older person traveling
includes finding bathrooms
and places to eat well as lodging.

Take Washington DC when visiting museums they have bathrooms. Walking outside
it is hard to find bathrooms. If you are driving keep eyes opened for gas stations to
use bathrooms. In the area
of the museums there are
not many restaurants. The
museums have cafeterias
downstairs however a bit
expensive. The museums
are no cost to go in but they
make up in the cafeteria.

Outside the museums you
can find small trucks who
serve drinks. Food usually
on another truck. Not sure
whether food cost as much
on the trucks as the cafeteria
since I did buy from the
trucks except ice cream cones.

I took the train into Washington
DC from my brother's in from
McLean Virginia. It was about
a thirty minute. I heard not
recommended to drive into
DC. If you do I believe you must
download an app for DC parking. I heard not cheap either. I saw people riding
bikes around DC however
need an app to unlock the
bikes for rental. I know
because I saw someone
doing so.

I learned the five days in
DC when going to the museums keep your eyes on the Washington Monument
and Capital Building. You should never get lost.

Look more from me about
travel. I will update my
website with new photos
at herbnightingale. com.

Until next time safe and blessings. Enjoy your
travels whether long distance
or short.

Back Home

I had a good time in British Columbia
over eleven days. It does feel a bit
odd now being back home. Only been
home for 24 hours plus.

I will be home for about 12 days
before heading to Virginia. I will be
there for eleven days.

It would be nice to travel this way
on a regular basis if it weren't for
money. I do plan for other trips.
October could be seeing places
around Washington state. Have
to see.

This is Gibson House next to Lake
Okanagan. This is now a park though
Aunt Joan my cousins in BC  mother
grew up there. It was built by her
father.

Here is a view of Lake Okanagan
from Gibson House. I recommend
for you to visit.

Continue on My Canadian Trip

I will end the first part of my trip
Monday in Rose Lake British Columbia.
Tuesday I head further north to my
cousin Susan's place near Big Lake.

Susan and her husband David have
a ranch. They have cows and horses
along with gardens. They are working
putting the hay together for this coming
winter.

Susan's primary job is cooking and
looking after the grandchildren. Her
sons Damon and Sam have homes
on the ranch too. They have a business
together in 150 mile house. The
youngest son Robin, wife Shannon and
three boys live nearby on their own land.
When I was here four years ago
they were building their house. I didn't
see it then.

In the Cariboo

Today is being my second day in
the Cariboo of British Columbia.
I am at my cousin Christy place
on Rose Lake.

On Thursday morning walk we saw
a deer. Didn't seem to be bothered
by me allowing me to take a picture.
She was in a dark spot so I had to
wait so this photo shows the backside.

Later on in the midafternoon took a
dip in the lake. The water was warm
on the surface anyway.

After dinning saw an  eagle. Before
bedtime had some lightning. This
morning just saw an eagle fly looking
out the window. Not the same as last
evening. I hear a loud noise. Could be
the eagle though don't see him right
now. They do have a lot of eagles here.

See the eagle on the top of the tree.

Today we are going into Williams Lake
the largest town in the region. I plan to
take more photos. This afternoon have
a visitor with her grandchildren. They
will spend time in the lake swimming.

Have a great day until next time. Save travels.

Hello Travelers

I know that I haven't written here for
some time with my other blogs going
on.

This week I am going to British
Columbia Canada to visit cousins.
They live in the Okanagan area. I
certainly will drive a lot of miles.
I. Plan to take some pictures along
the way and at my destinations.

I have three cousins in three different
locations. The first I will be at four
days, two at the second and two nights
at the third.  I plan to visit a few hours
with a fourth cousin Washington state
on my return since she is on the way
back.

In September I will be traveling to
Virginia for my niece wedding. Another
time to take a lot of photos too. I
plan at least one day in DC.

Until next time safe travels.

Interstate 90

Last week I did make it up Interstate 90
east of Seattle. I stopped at a couple
places. One was Lake Easton about 15
miles east of Snoqualmie Pass. The
other place is Golden Creek Pond. It
is real close to Snoqualmie. Take the
Hyak exit go north. The pond is located
about a mile in from the park.

Keep going east on I-90  a lot of other
places to see. I-90 goes from Seattle to
Boston. You have time you can find a
lot to see. Let you know more about
these in the future. Safe travel OK!

Another Place To Visit

I follow a number of hikers on
Instagram including those here
in home state of Washington.

It is nice to hear about places I
haven't heard about before. This
includes lakes, ponds and rivers.
I hope to visit some around the
country especially in national parks.

This week I saw a photo of a pond
called Gold Creek. I found it is a little
north of Snoqualmie Pass off of
Interstate 90. So next Thursday I will
go for a trip there. I will report back
to you.

Safe traveling.

Visit Lake Chelan

One of the most popular places to visit for those living in Western  Washington is Lake Chelan. It is located in North Eastern Washington. I...
