In the Cariboo

Today is being my second day in
the Cariboo of British Columbia.
I am at my cousin Christy place
on Rose Lake.

On Thursday morning walk we saw
a deer. Didn't seem to be bothered
by me allowing me to take a picture.
She was in a dark spot so I had to
wait so this photo shows the backside.

Later on in the midafternoon took a
dip in the lake. The water was warm
on the surface anyway.

After dinning saw an  eagle. Before
bedtime had some lightning. This
morning just saw an eagle fly looking
out the window. Not the same as last
evening. I hear a loud noise. Could be
the eagle though don't see him right
now. They do have a lot of eagles here.

See the eagle on the top of the tree.

Today we are going into Williams Lake
the largest town in the region. I plan to
take more photos. This afternoon have
a visitor with her grandchildren. They
will spend time in the lake swimming.

Have a great day until next time. Save travels.

Hello Travelers

I know that I haven't written here for
some time with my other blogs going
on.

This week I am going to British
Columbia Canada to visit cousins.
They live in the Okanagan area. I
certainly will drive a lot of miles.
I. Plan to take some pictures along
the way and at my destinations.

I have three cousins in three different
locations. The first I will be at four
days, two at the second and two nights
at the third.  I plan to visit a few hours
with a fourth cousin Washington state
on my return since she is on the way
back.

In September I will be traveling to
Virginia for my niece wedding. Another
time to take a lot of photos too. I
plan at least one day in DC.

Until next time safe travels.

Interstate 90

Last week I did make it up Interstate 90
east of Seattle. I stopped at a couple
places. One was Lake Easton about 15
miles east of Snoqualmie Pass. The
other place is Golden Creek Pond. It
is real close to Snoqualmie. Take the
Hyak exit go north. The pond is located
about a mile in from the park.

Keep going east on I-90  a lot of other
places to see. I-90 goes from Seattle to
Boston. You have time you can find a
lot to see. Let you know more about
these in the future. Safe travel OK!

Another Place To Visit

I follow a number of hikers on
Instagram including those here
in home state of Washington.

It is nice to hear about places I
haven't heard about before. This
includes lakes, ponds and rivers.
I hope to visit some around the
country especially in national parks.

This week I saw a photo of a pond
called Gold Creek. I found it is a little
north of Snoqualmie Pass off of
Interstate 90. So next Thursday I will
go for a trip there. I will report back
to you.

Safe traveling.

When Is Summer Going To End

Here in Washington State we have had
a record hot streak that is for sure. Even
rain has been at a minimum. So little hasn't
really registered at all.

In Western Washington we had record
temperatures hitting over one hundred
in July and almost the same in August.
Depending on where you were at a few
places reached one hundred while others
were in the mid 90s. Never had it before.

Does this mean summer will last longer
then normal as well. I am not sure anyone
really knows for sure.  Fall usually begins
in mid to late September or early October.
I wonder if summer will drag into October
this year.

This year travel to Washington has been a
good thing. I know people who have gone
to Hawaii from here as well. Personally
I would have postponed my trip to Hawaii
but I have never been there ever. I would
look to go Hawaii in the fall or winter. For
those who have family in Hawaii a different
story.

I haven't decided where I will go for my next
travel in September. There is so many nice
places to see in Western Washington besides
going to Eastern Washington. The other side
of the state usually is ten agrees warmer then
what we have here so summer time isn't
favorable to me unless you like having hot
weather. There are a lot of nice places to go
in Eastern Washington especially north near
the Canadian border, however, I would prefer
in the spring or fall.

I will be speaking with my sister on Friday
over zoom. I have to see whether she still
plans to come out from Quebec, Canada in
October. Right now there is a mask mandate
where indoors are expected to wear them while
outdoors not necessarily unless there is a good
size crowd.

When it comes to Washington state you can't
go wrong wherever you decide to go. Besides
Eastern and Western Washington central part
of the state is good to go as well. Along the
Columbia River is as good places to visit to.
Enjoy your travel wherever you go. Stay safe!

A Good Time

This summer has been the best I have seen around Western Washington if you like hot weather.

The temperatures the highest on.record. For the second time now near one hundred depending where you are at. Seattle will be about five degrees less but still hot. The Pike Place Market welcoming visitors back. Near the Space Needle is the new arena where the expansion hockey team to the NHL will be playing beginning in October. Though construction is still happening though almost done it will be nice to see from the outside. There are other good places to see around Seattle to.

The Washington coast won't be as hot as here and Whidbey island is only going to be around 77 degrees. A cold breeze going through the area.  Canada is now open so there the city of Vancouver to visit along with Victoria on Vancouver Island. So.much to see beyond Victoria.

Safe travels wherever you may go.

Visit the Puyallup River

On Tuesday August 3 I took another adventure
drive this time to nearby Puyallup. Actually I
went to the river. The river goes from Tacoma
through the city of Puyallup. You take the
Puyallup exit off of I5 and go east. The river
is off to the left. This time of the year the
river is a bit muddy but is wide. The river
doesn't move a whole lot this time of the
year either. At least when you travel from
Tacoma to Puyallup.

Many people who are not from here have a hard
time pronouncing the name. I would recommend
asking someone when you come here.

The Puyallup Valley is really nice to see. Taking
the same exit take the first road at a light to the
right. Keep following the road you will come to
the valley.

Another reason to come to Puyallup is the Western
Washington fair. It takes place in September. It
used to be only two weeks long in the middle of
the month. Now the fair goes for most of September.
The weather is nice still. There is always good fair
food well as seeing animals like horses. A country
style fair for sure. Throughout the time the fair is
open there are headline singers almost every night.
Most of them are country so you like that kind of
music Puyallup is the place to be. Also  there are
smaller acts throughout the fair as well. Music
brings good tone to the fair.

The Puyallup fairgrounds is used for other events
throughout the year as well though the "Fair" as
it is called is the main event of the year.

When  you come to Tacoma I would recommend
see Puyallup whether the city or the river. Not
big thrills but still shouldn't miss it. There are
other towns like Sumner and Bonney Lake nearby.
Also Puyallup is on the way to Mount Rainier too.
You can see the mountain behind the river.

Here We Are In August 2026

Do you remember what you have done  in August of the past it what you are  doing this year. Some people travel in August. They are ones  who...
