record amount of rain and flooding
that we had never seen or heard
about before.
Seattle and where I live on the
Olympic Peninsula didn't have
flood though the outskirts of
Seattle and north up to the
Canadian border did so.
Sunss where I go over the border
to visit my cousins in British
Columbia had flooding across
the road so couldn't get into
Canada at that point.
The Green and White River flooded
so much the citizens of the area
had to be evacuated. This included
Tukwila which is very close to Seattle
and near Boeing Field too.
I am not sure how much rain came
down however it was likely at least
half of the yearly rainfall in about
ten days. Millions of dollars damaged
happened. It certainly was a good time
for travelers to come.
My area had no damage though the
tides were high. Often we have drainage
issues in the shopping centers here
but not this time so things must have
been fixed. Shopping centers in those
areas of flooding were not so lucky
as well as at least two dozens rivers.
For that period the temperatures
were higher than normal in the
mountains too. Fortunately now the
temperatured have gone down with
enough snow too. A few highways were
damaged where they will be out of
commission for a while.
Travel to Seattle and the Olympic Peninsula
is fine if you don't mind some rainfall
continue to happen. We could get some
snow in January and February too.
That is what's happening here.
I am starting to make slime travel plans for 2026. I hope you do too.
